Making Progress in 08
Progress at the field!!

Thanks to Bruce - the small engines are up and running - Generator, lawn mower.

Thanks to Melvin and Friends - the South side of the Shed - roof - is repaired.

Thanks to Brian, Bernard and I - we have gone "Green" on the fences.  1 left to be completed.

Thanks to Larry and I - We have spread the Weed/Feed.  The grass is growing.
Thanks to Bruce Weber for selling us his inventory of Weed/feed at cost.

Thanks to Brian and Larry - the field is smoother from the roller.

What's left for 08:
The Sign needs TLC - Al Voss is on it.
The Shed needs some siding and paint - Melvin Buck
The Sun Shade needs the gutters removed to replace the boards behind - and re-hang the gutters.
The Shed needs to be cleaned out and construction materials removed.

I will put the word out for a work day in June.  We need a group to do the gutters, shed clean and paint.

Hopefully this can be completed prior to the Fun Fly on July 12.

Milwaukee RC Association
Folks

I attended the Milwaukee RC Association meeting today.  Most of the area clubs had Reps at the meeting.  Mostly uneventful.  A discussion of 07, the auction, club finances and events for the flying season.  I have added the local event to the "Events" tab on the web site.

One disturbing trend the Association faces - like all current clubs - to much work - to few folks ready to work.

The good thing about the Association - a network of clubs supporting the hobby, hobbyist, hobby shops and the community.  One takaway for me - show up at more of the events in the local area with my airplane.  Other than the DAMM Good Fun fly, I show up at the Astro Wings and Fond Du Lac but don't bring airplanes.  I will change that this year.  Pick a few events and get off your butt - I will.

The members that run the Waukesha Swap/Auction resigned due to health.  Hopefully, someone will step forward to continue the event.  I generally participate at the auction to raise money for my next project and protect my very limited building area from past overzealous thoughts of new aspect of the hobby - like indoor electrics.

More later.....
